SCORE Has Been Serving Clients For Over 40 Years
On January 5, 2004 SCORE, Counselors to America's Small Business, officially launched SCORE's 40th anniversary. The year-long celebration focused on the meaningful contribution of SCORE volunteers and the successful clients SCORE assists. SCORE has assisted more than 7.5 million entrepreneurs since 1964.
Small business ownership makes entrepreneurial dreams a reality; transforms individual lives; builds financial wealth; shapes futures; increases commerce in our communities; and is the engine behind the health and growth of the nation's economy.
The SCORE Association, headquartered in Washington, D.C., is a nonprofit association dedicated to entrepreneurial education and the formation, growth and success of small businesses nationwide. Our public service mission is to help more entrepreneurs become successful small business owners through face-to-face and email business counseling.
SCORE is composed of 10,500 volunteer business mentors, both working and retired, who counsel businesses from 389 chapter offices throughout the country. Ther are 8 chapters in 16 locations in Wisconsin. SCORE volunteers hail from every facet of the business community. Some have worked at large corporations. Some have served in our military or worked for the local or federal government. Others have spent years cultivating their own small business.
Last year, SCORE helped expand small business opportunities through assistance to more than 420,000 Americans through face to face counseling, e-mail counseling and workshops. |
